The Buddha (c. 5th to 4th century BCE), also known as Siddhartha Gotama or Siddhārtha Gautama, was a philosopher, meditator, spiritual teacher, and religious leader who lived in Ancient India. He is revered as the founder of Buddhism and taught for around 45 years, sharing insights on suffering (duḥkha) and the path to liberation (Nirvana).
